About the Course

Many companies are adopting Kubernetes for running their workloads, often as part of a transition to a DevOps way of working. This course teaches you the fundamental concepts of Kubernetes, so you can become confident in designing, running, and debugging Kubernetes workloads.

Slides and hands-on labs are in English. Training can be in either Dutch or English, depending on the audience.

This training can be offered in a remote format.

On customer request, training content can be modified to emphasise certain aspects.

Course content

Kubernetes Core Concepts: An introduction on Kubernetes. What is it? What does it do? What does it not do? What are the most important Kubernetes building blocks?

Kubernetes Deployment Strategies: An overview of several ways to define Kubernetes deployments for your application, including more advanced systems like Kustomize and Helm, guidelines on choosing the appropriate strategy for your workload, and hands-on labs where you will create your own deployments

Security Fundamentals: Basic security concepts and best practices for Kubernetes, including RBAC, deployment guidelines, useful tools, and common pitfalls

Running in Production: Dealing with Kubernetes scaling functionality, influencing the scheduler, controlling failure and degradation, and debugging workloads

Anyone interested in effectively running workloads on Kubernetes, especially: Developers, DevOps Engineers, Platform Engineers, System/Platform Architects.

This training assumes the following knowledge and experience:

- Container technology (Docker)

- YAML formatting
