Mathijs de Meijer

I am Mathijs deMeijer. 

Currently I work as a Senior Data Engineer at Dataworkz where I design, implement and operate large data intensive systems. Some systems I've worked on include real-timefraud detection in transactions at ING, real-time airplane monitoring at Schiphol, automated e-mail classification at ABN-AMRO and personal health coachback-ends at Habtic. 

In a previous life I was the CTO of Nerdalize (now Leafcloud), a cloud provider that heats your home for free with data and compute intensive workloads by clients in industry and academics. Before that I was lead software engineer for several products at a smart home IoT company. 

What I like most in my profession is designing computing systems, with a hardware component, together with competent people that serve a scalable ethical goal.

On most weekends I find myself reading scientific papers, university textbooks, modern philosophy and hard sci-fi space opera novels to explore new ideas and insights into myself and the world.
