About Me
My name is Thijs Koot (1996) and I live in Hoef en Haag. I work for Dataworkz as a Data Engineer, which means I advise and assist our clients on all matters relating to data infrastructure.
I have implemented various greenfield data warehousing/analytics solutions, as well as migrating older technology stacks to more modern technologies like Snowflake, Databricks and Kubernetes. My main goal is always to strike a balance between technically sound solutions and delivering value inthe short term.
Our dogs take up most of my spare time, as me and my partner are big fans of working dogs. We do search-and-rescue work with our Dutch shepherd, which is a time-consuming but immensely rewarding activity. When not outdoors, I like to keep up to date with the latest technologies and toy around with hobby projects, which range from simple home automation to rather complexprojects such as writing my own Delta Lake implementation in Go, or reverse engineering proprietary video formats.
