About Me
Hi, I'm Tim! I'm a Data Engineer at Dataworkz, currently working at Essent.
My passion is to make solutions that have an impact on peoples lives, providing them with a better experience through data and automation. Streaming and Event Driven systems have a special place for me, the faster data and insights are available, the better.
Working at various (semi-)corporates including KPN, ASR, and Essent, I've worked on many environments from on-prem to fully cloud-based, low to high level. I've built systems with various business and architectural requirements, from ingesting as much data as quickly as possible, to maximising usability, security, and auditability, to reducing costs.
My main mantras are "automate everything" and "no great solution arises without collaboration".
I enjoy reading, playing boardgames, home automation and 3d-printing.

Each organisation faces more or less the same challenge: what to ask of people who know more about moving data in the right direction. This session is perfect for people who know what kind of data your organisation has but don't know how to move forward at lightspeed.
Skills
I'm an all-rounder like most of our Data Engineers; with a background in Machine Learning but with a passion for automation and code that make me an engineer at heart. In practice, I work on infrastructure, code, CI/CD, integrations and the like depending on the needs of the customer.
